DMA234 - Final - Creative Design

Phase 3: Story, Narrative, and Design Style

Now that I have an idea of the theme I will be using for my poster, I will now have with finalize the various assets I would use in my final product.

Story

A snake has been on the earth for over 130 million years. Without limbs, it can climb, swim and sometimes fly. Some have a deadly bite that can kill a human. In religion, it was the animal that tempted Adam and Eve.
It has an expandable jaw and can swallow prey larger than itself whole. It drenches its prey with saliva and crushes it with its muscles. Some snakes inject its prey with venom using its fangs to subdue it. Snakes have always been depicted as an animal to fear.

Assets

Conclusion
In the end, I would love my final poster to portray the predatorial characteristics of the snake and the habitat in which it loves in.

DMA234 - Final: Creative Design Poster

Phase 2 : Research & Inspiration

For this assignment, I am leaning towards using your typical textures associated with my predator, the snake. I also plan on adding an organic feel to the poster as well so I would include some plant texture in there somehow.

CUL502YA -Blog Entry No.5 (Internet)

April 3rd marked my first bloggiversary. I seriously never thought I would of made it past 6 months. Besides this blog (aka my production blog), I currently have two other blogs up & running on TUMBLR by the name of Afro.Art.Chick & Afroholic. One is dedicated to black culture (past & present) while the other is dedicated to my love for the coily, kinky, curly rounded hairdo known as the afro. Both blogs happens to be Afrocentric.
I currently have over 8,000 followers altogether and its pretty hard for me to believe that there that amount of people out there in the world who finds my blogs to be interesting as well as inspiring. To tell you the truth, I'm glad that I did because I have met so many fascinated people from all around the world through my blog. I have even gotten the chance to meet a few fellow TUMBLRS who resides in Toronto.
Although, I tend to blog in my leisure time, I really consider blogging to be a major aspect of my life. I seriously cannot imagine my life without it.

CUL502YA - Blog Entry No. 4 (Print)

Ever since the age of 11, I've always been collecting magazines, mainly those published for teens. I have boxes upon boxes of boxes filled with magazines from the mid-90s till now. Throughout my collection, you're able to find tons of SEVENTEEN, YM, TIGER BEAT, TEEN PEOPLE, TEEN VOGUE, TEEN, COSMOGIRL & RIGHT ON!
As soon as I became an adult, I decided it was time for a change so I started purchasing including INSTYLE, ELLE & Vogue. Although I was very much intrigued by the vivid high fashion images being presented, I never really connected to the articles they published. So after awhile, I went back into the arms of my teen magazines.
I recently celebrated my 26th year of life and can you believe that I'm still an avid reader of a few of these magazines especially SEVENTEEN & TEEN VOGUE and I have a feeling that I won't be giving them up anytime soon!
