DMA179 - Paper Zoo (Overview)

Although, I found it really difficult when it came to deciding where exactly to place the line art along with the text/information, I very much enjoyed this project.

For my extra animal line art, I used the Desert Jerboa (Desert), Walrus (Polar), Ostrich (Savannah), Toucan ( Rainforest), Prairie Dog (North Plains) & Killer Whale (Ocean). I decided to use the specific animals, mainly because they were the first selections that came to mind when I thought of the particular bio-area. Secondly, these various animals are easily associated whenever one thinks of the bio-area from which they reside.

Overall, this was somewhat a challenging assignment for me but in the end, I very much enjoyed it!

DMA179 - Watercolour Paintings (Still Life)

For this week's in-class assignment, we were given 10 minutes each to paint four different objects using watercolour paints & paper. We weren't allowed to sketch beforehand. Unfortunately for me, I spent too much time doing the basic outline for each objects rather than getting down to the painting.

The main purpose for this assignment according to our professor, was to prove that our drawing or painting skills, no matter how good/bad we are with both, isn't really all that relevant when it comes down to this course.
